(30 Jun 2017) In the desert of Qatar, one farm has made its own oasis. These tomatoes were grown inside greenhouses which are made to stay some 20 degrees lower than the scorching outside temperatures of the desert peninsula. They're grown in mulch imported from Sri Lanka, made from coconut waste. And when they're watered, even the run-off is saved. The Agrico farm's owners hope that through innovation they can help their home become more self-reliant for its food supply. I know this weather is hard for plants.. But if you are patiente you can have your herbs and enjoy some gardening. This is not my permanent place and I do have a lot of more seeds germinating in other area.. Cucumber, bell peppers and tomatoes do well in Qatar. While they grow I'm buying the planters and making a simple green house... This is just a hobby I'm not professional but last year I had a lot of spices and herbes during months..
